Avantras, which means “moving forward”, traces our roots to SEMA, Inc., a business consulting firm that Kevin Miles and Paul Desiderati founded in 1985. SEMA initially provided strategic consulting and advisory services to private and non-profit organizations before expanding its reach to include government agencies and large corporations such as Merck, General Mills, Kellogg, ITT Industries, Tyson, Packaging Resources, Pennsylvania House Furniture and others. In 1996, Kevin further developed his offerrings by teaming with two partners to form Alliance Group, a management consulting, business consulting and advisory services firm for CEOs of privately held businesses, entrepreneurs, startups and franchises. As the companies evolved and two of the partners retired, SEMA and Alliance joined forces in 2008 to become Avantras Consulting Group. Avantras combines industry knowledge with specialized expertise in business strategy, operations, production, financing, organizational transformation and leadership development to deliver sustained shareholder growth to small and medium-sized corporations and non-profit organizations.
